Hi Hi everyone..! lama menghilang.. sehat semua? hehe.. Ok.. x perlu cakap byk.. straight to the point --> Now, neng nak share share my knowledge in field trip kat CEMACS USM, Muka Head.. by the way, I'm taking bachelor in Biology Aquatic in USM, Pulau Pinang now..
apa itu CEMACS USM?
The Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies (CEMACS) was established in August 1991 to undertake research and post-graduate training in Marine Science and Coastal Ecosystems. It provides the institutional mechanism for mobilising and integrating the University’s considerable expertise and resources in marine science. The main objective of CEMACS is to enhance the capability of conducting integrated inter-and multi-disciplinary studies leading towards solving problems related to marine and coastal ecosystems.
CEMACS is located at Teluk Aling the northwest coast of Penang Island in the Penang National Park. The centre is served by a number of core academics working in collaboration with research associates identified from other teaching schools as well as from outside the University. The centre’s international associates include those from Canada, Australia, USA, UK, Japan, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Iran, Australia, China, Singapore, Vietnam and Denmark. Associates of CEMACS are provided with the direct access to the centre’s considerable research and training facilities. Presently, research and training conducted at the centre is focused on biodiversity and conservation of marine ecosystems, coastal forest ecosystems, mariculture and marine mammal ecology (dugong and dolphin).

tujuan field trip neng ke CEMACS USM adalah untuk mempelajari course Biology Diversity and Ecology Practical. Kami didedahkan kepada 4 ecosystems:

could you spot the different? Yes! cara crabs korek lubang habitatnya adalah berbeza.. kita dapat lihat yang setiap lubang apabila dikorek, seni yang dihasilkan itu adalah berbeza.. jika diperhatikan betul-betul, setiap pasir yang dijadikan bulat-bulat tu, warnanya lebih cerah daripada yang lain..ini kerana nutrient-nutrient pasir tersebut telah dimakan oleh crabs tersebut. begitulah cara crab consume food.. indah kan?
yang bawah nie pula hasil seni daripada siput-siput yang berbentuk panjang tirus.. seni nie dihasilkan bila siput-siput tu bergerak dari satu tempat ke satu tempat yang lain..

hah.. nie sgt mengejutkan.. dalam tanah-tanah yang disampelkan, salah satu finding yang neng dapat ialah NEMATODE! ohh.. is a NEMATODE..! cacing ooii.. cacing! bukan satu ekor tapi banyak-banyak ekor oo..! cacing jenis ini sangat halus dan boleh terus penetrate through our skin.. tu la orang tua-tua slalu ckap 'cucu, pakai kasut bila keluar rumah.'

baby cuttlefish ini scara kebetulan kami jumpa di pantai depan CEMACS USM. Ombak terlalu kuat sehingga kan telur-telur cuttlefish nie terdampar di gigi pantai.. untuk selamatkan baby cuttlefish nie, kami aerate kan telur tuu sampai la hatch menjadi larvae.

macam-macam knowledge and experience neng dapat di sini.. sangat indah kan haiwan-haiwan ciptaan nie? hargai la mereka.. belajar la dari mereka.. tanpa mereka, kita pun tiada di dunia nie.. hidup kita bergantung dengan mereka.. tanpa mereka, kita susah.. tapi tanpa kita, mereka bahagia..
